Book five in the Goat Hill Series

The Eternal Disquiet

For the past several years 15-year-old Jason Conti has answered the call from the no longer living: young spirits trapped between worlds by their early demise; their desire, their supplications, their desperation, compelling him to solve their untimely deaths and bring those responsible to justice. A lot to bare for one who isn’t even old enough to hold a driver’s license.

When a seventeen-year-old girl from the local public high school disappears, her family approaches Jason to use his supposed other-worldly gifts to help find her — desperate times calls for desperate measures. At first, Jason assumes this is just another tragedy in a long line of tragedies to befall their unfortunate town. However, he soon realises that the girl's disappearance and the subsequent death of another are a direct consequence of his gift.

Unfortunately for Jason, helping those lost between worlds has come at a cost ....

In the place between worlds, there are those that thrive on the pain and suffering of the innocent souls trapped there. Malevolent spirits waging an unseen war against all that is good. To them, Jason is the enemy and must be stopped. However, to one pernicious spirit, Jason is the one he has been searching for since he departed the physical world almost two centuries before.

The predator once known as William The Destroyer desires the one that can exist in both realms.

William was once a killer of men, formed by the brutality of a new emerging but stolen nation created by the discarded people from an imperious country on the other side of the world. Unwilling to let go of his earthly existence, William targets mortal souls willing to do his bidding: those damaged minds easily manipulated to inflict pain on the innocent. However, his ultimate goal is to return to the earthly plain where he can continue to be the Destroyer of Men, and the only one that can make that happen is the very boy trying to stop him.
